It was the best decision I ever made

Adopting Nancy in the Summer of 2020 changed my world for the better.

Living on my own during the coronavirus lock down brought many different challenges, trying to balance home and work life all under the same roof, all the while not having the opportunity to go anywhere or do anything.

I am a keen walker, and there is nothing I like more than spending an afternoon walking through the countryside, and it seemed a shame to not take a dog along with me and share the joy of being outdoors. That’s why I contacted Linbee Dog Rehoming, as I knew I didn’t want to buy a puppy, since there are so many dogs that need homes, especially ex-racing greyhounds who find themselves surplus to requirements at the end of their racing careers.

Many greyhounds like Nancy end up in Kennels, often they are older than what most people want their dog to be, meaning it can be a long time before they ever find a loving home, which is tragic because all the dogs that find themselves in kennels just want a warm roof over their head and plenty of treats!

I would urge anyone thinking of adopting a dog to first of all think about the long term implications, whether your lifestyle would suit, and think if you’re ready to commit to house training… I can remember Nancy having a few “accidents” in the first few weeks! But please, consider rescues first.

Adopting Nancy changed my life and there are many more dogs at Linbee that are waiting to change yours too. If you want to know more about dog adoption, please use the contact form on the website.
